I would rather a friendship/relationship build to a comfortable level between muses before there is any friending. It's just a personal preference I know some do not share.
Dan is what I call canonish. He's canon save he will make modern day sports references to keep up easier with the times. Sports Night is an older show, so to me it is easier to talk about current events in sports and not those of fifteen years ago.
Dan won't be hooking up with anyone for a long time. I want to build him up and honestly? Dan had some issues he really needs to still work through before he can be good in a relationship. He'll make friends, he'll flirt, and in memes he'll do shippyish things. Other than that? He'll remain single. Unless he really hits it off with someone.
Dan will be more writing based as soon as I start prompt writing with him. This will help me get his voice down a lot better. He will not reference anyone he meets in comms in any prompts. It will be way too soon for that.
Dan will be played as straight. Trust me I know there has been Dan/Casey fics. I however see them as brothers and enjoy that aspect of their relationship. Just two guys who have known each other forever and are there for each other.
Dan in canon is a famous sports anchor, so it is safe to assume you can have your muse know who he is. However please do not assume your muse has slept with him in the past, is an ex of his, or someone he knows personally without asking me first. There is a difference between the two.
I think it needs to be noted that yes while Dan is live action I have nothing against other mediums. Dan will play with them all. He's a friendly guy, so he will talk.
